I completed rebranding of Daehan Cinema.

Reflection

First of all, I really enjoyed this work.

At first, I didn't know where to begin, but I studied a lot through various research and process.

Especially, I could know several good designers such as Paul Rand, Jamin lee.

At the end of the work, I could learn how to take pictures of the product effectively.

Of course, it's not yet perfect.

I'm generally satisfied with all of the work.

However, the package design remains a little inconvenient.

It was the hardest work to do from create to actual size to took pictures.

In particularly, cups were really difficult.

But, I felt I can make better next time.

On the other hand, I liked the logo very much.

I'm glad I thought it was better than my initial idea.

Additionally, I think the logo fits well with my goal that simple and easy to know.

This work brought me more charm into the brand design.

There were a lot of hard work and process, but I believe that 

these experiences will be a good skills when I try to do re-branding again.

If I have a chance, I want to do branding work more often.

[ MAJOR PROJECT 3 ] 30. PORTFOLIO DESIGN

I did practice about portfolio design.

Firstly, I tried to initial sketch of portfolio in Contextual studies class.
That time, I didn't complete final work yet, so I just did practice.


But now, I finished my works, so I could develop portfolio design more.


Final works are most important, but I think it also important that how to display my work.
For this reason, I wanted to people can prediction my work when they are looking cover page.
So, I decided to use brand colours and fonts as cover design.
Furthermore, I tried to express vintage mood used various filter and skills.

This is my final cover page.

I used based on orange and beige colours.

Also, 'portfolio' font is Futura font.

Moreover, I tried to express vintage mood.

It looks a little dark, but I satisfied this piece.

I think this cover shows well the theme colour scheme.

DESIGN BOARD

I started to create design board.
I thought that how to display my work effectively and which information
I have to include in design board.

Colour palette

I decided to I will include these content.

I started to create a layer and added title and logo.

Then I put digital final pieces and pictures.
I picked three pictures among several pictures.
I tried to chose the picture can shows detail of design.

Finally, I added palette and fonts.

I tried to use various colours as background.
However, it looks not suitable and rather, the background colour hinders my project.
So, I decided to didn't use the background.

However, I think it need to background when I uploaded website.
Because my website's background is purple.


I will create to each work like this.
Moreover, I will create a logo page, cover and introduction page as well.

[ MAJOR PROJECT 3 ] 28. DIGITAL PROCESS; BROCHURE

BROCHURE

This is my final piece of this project.
The purpose of this brochure is introduce Daehan cinema.

I started to make the shape of brochure.

I will put the logo in the middle so the blank circle have to parallel.

Then, this is cover side.

Before I said, I wanted to use the geometric feature of futura font.

So, I divided two brand colours than put the brand name.

And then, I added the logo with circle inside.

This time I used the brown logo because orange logo looks too contrast in this work.

Furthermore, I have planned that use various shape.

So, this shape will be orange colours.

So, I used brown logo for achieve colour harmony.

First time, i just tried to put the colours and any shape.

But it need to relate to content. So, I changed the shape location.

Also, I tried to use the futura font to divide the part.

I like the idea, but it was not fit in this brochure.

This is my final pieces.
I added cinema's picture I thought this will help to people remember the cinema.
Also, I focused on the content.
So, I added shapes when I added information.

The brand motto is 'The third space', so I introduced the space and facility.
Also, membership and directions.

[ MAJOR PROJECT 3 ] 27. DIGITAL PROCESS; FOOD PACKAGE

FOOD PACKAGE

I started to food package design.

Before I started to I thought about the template.

As the design will be suitable each template, I thought about first.

Then, I started to create the package.

I chose popcorn package at first, because it is the normal and basic cinema movie.

So, many people buy a popcorn when they enjoy movie.

It means among each food package, popcorn package have more opportunity that

people can see that design.

So, I concentrated on popcorn package design.

Firstly, I made a box that fit in the size.
Then I designed same with coupon.

It was my initial final piece. I added logo and used brand colours.
But I felt I need to add more and more.
Because it looks too simple and it was similar with name card.
Furthermore, it was hard to express 'popcorn' package.

So, I decided to develop more through icon such like coupon design.

I tried to various design with popcorn icon like spread popcorn or small patterns.

Among them, I satisfied 'die cut'. It means cut it follow the popcorn icon.
Then, it will be transparent, so it shows real popcorn that inside this package.

I like this design. It is possible to shows the food and also this design connect other products.
So, I decided to use this design.

Logo was located in side.
I felt logo is important but the package design need to focus on food express than logo.
So, I moved the logo location from the middle to side.

This is the final template that I add the design.
I will print it fit in real size.

Nacho box also same design and process with popcorn.
But the box will be smaller than popcorn, so it was careful when I designed.

This is nacho box final template.
It also same process with popcorn box.

Beverage package was most hard among this whole brand identity.
Because I didn't know how to create template exactly, so I cut real cup and scan that.
Then, I started to create the template for beverage.
In addition, the beverage cup will be different from popcorn and nacho package.
Although popcorn and nacho box is square, but beverage cup is round.
So, it was hard to design but I tried to do my best.
